Zvi Weiss, PsyD
Dr. Zvi Weiss is the founder and director of Weiss Psychology. He received his doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Long Island University, Post campus, and completed his clinical internship at Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth, NJ. Following completion of his graduate work, Dr. Weiss completed a post-doctoral fellowship in young adult mental health at the Counseling and Psychological Services center at Columbia University. In addition to his clinical training, Dr. Weiss received a masters degree in Education as well as rabbinic ordination at Yeshiva University. He integrates various treatment modalities such as psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, and dialectical behavioral (DBT) therapies to help young adults struggling with identity, relationship, and sexual issues, as well as issues intersecting religious identity and psychological health.
Shira Donath, PsyD
Shira Donath is a licensed psychologist and a certified school psychologist. She received her PsyD. from Rutgers University’s Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP) in the School Psychology program and completed advanced trainings at Stress and Anxiety Services of NJ and Achieve Behavioral Health, and Rutgers University’s ADHD clinic. Shira focuses on treating OCD, anxiety and mood disorders, and behavioral and interpersonal difficulties. She believes in taking a collaborative approach to help her clients reach their goals and aims to provide a genuine therapeutic relationship that allows her clients to increase their self-awareness and work towards increased autonomy over their lives.
Amy Vargas, LMFT
Amy Vargas holds graduate degrees in clinical psychology from Hofstra University on Long Island, the Instituto Superior de Estudios Psicológicos in Valencia, Spain, and the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra in the Dominican Republic. She focuses clinically on helping patients to regulate emotions, manage anxiety, and decrease depressive symptoms. She works to deepen patients’ understanding of life crises, parenting patterns, and family dynamics in order to improve self-esteem and autonomy, helping individuals facilitate clear goals and objectives in their lives.
Justin Spiro, LCSW
Justin Spiro is a licensed social worker with 15 years of experience working with adolescents and young adults in public school and outpatient settings, with a special focus on the LGBTQ population. He utilizes an eclectic approach, with experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Justin believes in getting to know each client individually in order to best address their unique needs and goals.
Julia McDonald, Intake Coordinator
Julia McDonald is a first year doctoral student in the PsyD program at the University of Hartford-Graduate Institute of Professional Psychology, in the Child and Adolescent Track. She received her bachelor's degree in Applied Psychology and Human Development from Boston College in 2020 and spent two years working as a Post Baccalaureate Clinical Fellow at McLean Hospital. Through this program she was placed at Franciscan Children's Hospital-Community Based Acute Treatment Program (CBAT), and gained experience working with diverse groups of children and adolescents in a residential setting.
